My name is Patricia Claybaugh. I have been a teacher for 41 years and have been at Scott for 38 of those years. The Scott community is just like family to me. In fact, much of my family lives near Scott and I have had three nieces and a nephew go to Scott School. This year I have a great-niece in first grade at Scott School.
Family: I am married to Lloyd Claybaugh, a pharmacist. We have a wonderful daughter, Jennifer, who graduated from Butler University with a double major in communications/advertising and public relations. She graduated with High Honors in advertising and public relations and higher honors in communications. Interests: I am an avid reader and I love to cook. Our family enjoys traveling. In the past few years we visited London, Paris, Amsterdam, Luxembourg, Brussels, Spain, Austria, Germany, Scotland, and Rome. We also enjoy traveling in the U.S, and especially love the Sandestin, Florida area. My absolute favorite thing to do, though, is to go shopping with my daughter. Honors: During my career, I have been blessed with many honors for my teaching. In 2012, I received the Outstanding Educator Award from the University of Evansville and the Evansville Courier and Press. In the past I was named the EVSC Teacher of the Year and Evansville Area Reading Council Reading Teacher of the Year. I also have received the state service award for the Indiana State Reading Association. I was chosen to speak at the International Reading Association Conference a few years ago. Professional: At this time I am a trainer for the EVSC in the areas of Four Block Reading, Write Traits, Curriculum Mapping, and Dibels Next. This past year, I served on the English/Language Arts Resource Adoption team and also on the First Grade Curriculum Mapping Team. I enjoy teaching teachers, just like I enjoy teaching children. |
